<p style="text-align: center;">Taken from IOM Class Championship Regulations</p>
<p><strong>8. ENTRIES</strong></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.1 The maximum number of boats shall be 76.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.2 The initial closing date shall be <strong>June 24</strong><strong>th</strong><strong>, 2010</strong>.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.3 The allocation of places shall take place within 14 days of the initial closing date.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.4 Member NCAs should only send entry fees for those competitors gaining places allocated in Stage One.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.5 Member NCAs shall send entry forms for their competitors entering in Stages Two, Three &amp; Four only if they are prepared to guarantee payment of the entry fee for those competitors getting a place. Once a place is allocated payment is required whether that competitor races or not.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span id="more-360"></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.6 Stage One</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.6.1 In which no Member NCA shall have an allocation of more than 8 places. The initial allocation of places shall be:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(i) A personal place for the previous champion; this place shall not be counted in any Member NCA’s total.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(ii) Two places to each European Member NCA and one place to each other Member NCA.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(iii) Four additional places for the host NCA.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(iv) Ten guest places to competitors either not represented by a NCA, or that have demonstrated noteworthy dedication and service to the class.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(v) The remaining places shall be allocated to European Member NCAs according to the finishing order of boats from the European Member NCA in the previous European championship.</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.7 Stage Two</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.7.1. In which no Member NCA shall have its allocation increased above 10 places. If there are still places after the initial allocation, any available places shall be allocated to European Member NCAs that have sent in applications for additional places before the closing date, using the finishing order of boats from the European Member NCAs in the previous European championship.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.7.2  Then, if there are still places available,</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">(i) Those European Member NCAs still requiring places shall be listed in a List</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(a) In order of their highest finishing place in the previous European championship, followed by</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(b) In reverse numerical order of their World Council voting entitlement, where those with the same number of votes shall be split by drawing lots.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;"><a href="http://www.iomclass.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/cuadro.gif"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-365" title="cuadro" src="http://www.iomclass.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/cuadro.gif" alt="" width="380" height="108" /></a>* NCA’s which were not represented on previous championship and have asked for additional places should be added to this list in the reverse numerical order of their World Council voting entitlement</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.7.3  Then, if there are still places available, places shall then be allocated one per European Member NCA going down the List repeatedly until each European Member NCA reaches the Stage Two maximum allocation, or has the places applied for if less.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.8 Stage Three</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.8.1 If there are still places available, the ESC may allocate guest places to non- European competitors pursuant to rule 7.3, to maximum of 6, where no more than 1 place shall be allocated to any one country.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.8.2 Then, if there are still places available,</p>
<p style="padding-left: 90px;">(i) there shall be no restriction on the maximum number of places for any European Member NCA. Places shall be allocated one per European Member NCA to those Member NCAs still wanting them, using the List.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">If any European Member NCA has requested places after the initial closing date, they should be added at this stage.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">8.9 Stage Four</p>
<p style="padding-left: 60px;">8.91. If at any stage the maximum number of entrants is achieved, the Organising Authority shall notify at least the next five persons on the List informing them that they are a reserve should anyone drop out. If places become available immediately prior to the start of an event, the Organising Authority may make up the numbers to the entry limit, by informing the reserves and then continuing the allocation of places from the List.</p>

<h3>1. Venue</h3>

<h3>3. Organising Authority</h3>
<p>3.1. The 2010 International One Metre European Championship is organised by the Sailing Club UNVMP in association with the French Sailing Federation, as approved by the International One Metre International Class Association.</p>
<h3>4. Eligibility</h3>
<p>4.1. The competition is open to International One Metre class boats selected by an IOM National Class Association in good standing with IOMICA. The ISAF Regulations regarding eligibility apply with the additional requirements of the IOMICA Class Championship Regulations.</p>
<h3>5. Registration</h3>
<p>5.1. A valid IOM Class Certificate for each boat must be submitted on or before 1st September 2010. A fax copy is acceptable; however the original must be made available at registration. Boats shall be presented for registration and equipment inspection on Saturday, 25th September or Sunday 26th before 11 AM . The Race Committee may extend the time for registration and inspection if there is a valid reason to do so. No boat shall be eligible to race until it has been registered and has passed equipment inspection.</p>
<h3>6. Scoring and Racing System</h3>
<p>6.1. The Championship will be raced and scored under the Heat Management System (HMS2007). Entries shall be limited to 76 boats.</p>
<h3>7. Umpires</h3>
<p>7.1. ISAF International Umpires or International Judges shall be appointed as umpires. National Judges and National Umpires may be appointed to assist.</p>
<p>7.2. Competitors may be required to undertake Observer duties. Experienced Radio Sailing personnel may be appointed to record boat and buoy contacts and penalty turns.</p>
<h3>8. Sailing instructions</h3>
<p>8.1. The sailing instructions will be provided by the end of the period of registration.</p>
<h3>9. International Jury</h3>
<p>9.1. An International Jury conforming to RRS Appendix N shall be appointed. RRS 70.4 will apply. Furthermore, the right of appeal is denied to the extent that a boat&#8217;s transfer to subsequent heats is affected.</p>
<h3>10. Entries</h3>
<p>10.1. Entry Form to be build.</p>
<p>10.2. The entry fee proposed is 360 EUR per competitor together with the IOMICA fee of 15 EUR per competitor (total fee 375 EUR) but will be confirmed in due time. (Could be reduced if sponsorship is found)- It will include all lunchs from Sept 26th to October 2nd, gastronomic trip on lay day and event opening and closure ceremony dinners.</p>
<h3>11. Equipment Inspection</h3>
<p>11.1. It is intended that all boats will pass equipment inspection on Friday 24th September, Saturday 25th September and Sunday morning 26th. Nonetheless, the Race Committee may at any time request the Equipment Inspector to confirm that a boat complies with the IOM Class Rules. Random spot checks may be made throughout the event.</p>
<h3>12. Frequencies</h3>
<p>12.1. The permitted frequency bands are 2.4 Ghz 26,815 to 27,195 MHz 35,000 to 35,200 MHz 40,665 to 41,200 MHz 72,210 to 72,490 MHz. Each competitor must have a minimum of 6 frequencies available. An exception to the minimum number of frequencies is granted in the case of systems operating on 2.4 GHz.</p>
<h3>13. Prizes</h3>
<p>13.1. Prizes to be confirmed.</p>
<h3>14. Liability</h3>
<p>14.1. All those entering or taking part in this Championship do so at their own risk and responsibility. ISAF, ISAF – RSD, the International One Metre International Class Association, the Sailing Club “UNVMP”, the French Sailing Federation and its Rafio Sailing Division and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice of Race.</p>
<p>14.2. At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decision to participate or continue shall rest with the competitor. By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions. Competitors are advised to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance that provides cover for public liability and their possible injury in France.</p>
<h3>15. Accommodation, transport, etc</h3>
<p>15.1. Appendix A contains a list of accommodation packages and costs.</p>
<p>15.2. Appendix B to be build will contain the list of social, food and transport packages and their costs available to competitors, partners, and supporters.</p>

<p>It will be fully confirmed only after formal validation by FRA MNA (FFV) planned for Nov 23rd but as calendars are being built all around Europe at this time, UNVMP Pierrelatte in France has awarded EC 2010.</p>
<p>Dates will be September 24th to October 2nd. <br />A Pre NOR will be issued shortly with a more complete schedule. <br />For those interested, Tricastin cup is planned at the same location for Easter (April 3rd-5th).</p>
