Re: New Nylet Spirit is here! Progress at last!

Here you go Richard, well within the rules, as I would expect it to be, the Spirit appears to be very well thought out! http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f329/m500dpp/Spirit%20build/DSC_5671.jpg Be interested in other opinions on this...anyone....? 16 D.2.3(c) Do any fittings project outboard of th...

Re: New Nylet Spirit is here! Progress at last!

Yeah Dave,it will be interesting to see what others think. It seems like(and seemed when we had to rule on it at the measuring stage) such a minor thing, however it was pointed out to us that the rule is the rule.So what do you do? I guess it comes down to applying the rules equally to every boat. Mo...

Re: New Nylet Spirit is here! Progress at last!

How does the backstay fitting point conform with the no outrigger rules?.Recently had this with another brand of boat and it was decided having the attachment point outside the boat extremes was not legal.

Re: The Cost of Operating a Major Event

I'm with Bruce on this.I can see no reason IOMICA should not be a contributor to the cost of running these events. After all is said and done if the event fails and the class suffers, numbers decline, the class becomes redundant........IOMICA becomes surplus to requirements. Obviously a worst case scen...

Re: IOMICA Fees

Perhaps a refundable deposit, maybe set as a percentage of maximum expected entries, set .Once all reportage criteria is met the deposit is refunded to the event holders.
Bit draconian perhaps but money talks

Re: IOMICA Fees

Managed to get time to read the documents, a few interesting things in them but nothing too surprising. IOM CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP RULES RULE 6.8 within 3 months of the completion of the championship the organising authority shall forward a report to the ESC,comprising at the least a statement of incom...

Re: IOMICA Fees

Thanks all for your replies in regard to the costs.Even without a break down in actual figures I can now see where some big dollar items help to drive up the total expenditure. New to the sport and ,as I say way down south,it didn't occur to me that the officials for the regatta's would be paid. Is ...

Re: IOMICA Fees

Being from the "Ends of the Earth" :D down here in NZ,I'm always surprised at the costs mentioned to hold one of these contests.Without divulging any commercially sensitive information, is anyone able to show a simple breakdown of the costs involved. Please do not take this question as criticism in a...
