I agree completely with Mr. Buckman's remarks below. I wish to thank those who formed the IOMICA and those who have and will run it. Particularly, I would like to thank Mr. Gilbert for his hard work and his willingness to absorb the slings and arrows that go with leadership. This is a good and well ...

Whatever happened to the idea of measuring resistance? I have a $4.00 ohm meter which probably would do such. I am not able to speak to this subject but no one else has said boo after it was introduced. Bye-the-bye, I plan to vote against this rule addition as I now understand it. How does voting wo...

Thankx Anders and Roy.
What about the machinery used to check the baggage (like X-ray, MRI, EEG or EKG [sorry the alphabet got away from me]), does it effect the computer in the radio?

Thank you one and all for your input. I have decided to take my chances with Air Canada. They charge $50.00 US ($65.00 Canadian) per item oneway so the sting won't hurt too bad if it is implemented. This is probably close to the shipping charges and without the hassle. I am going to call it sporting...

Travelling with an IOM

I am going to Toronto with my IOM via Air Canada. Anyone have recent experience on how to avoid oversized baggage charges? I think I can get the boat itself in a small enough box. The rigs, however, are going to be way over.
Thank you, Ron

BEFORE YOU PUT A BUNCH OF MONEY IN THIS PROJECT, BE SURE THAT THE BOAT IS AN IOM. IT COULD BE A U.S. ONE METER (IT IS CALLED THAT IN CANADA, ALSO). SO: 1. GO TO LOCAL SAILORS AND FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE SAILING. 2.GO TO AMYA.ORG AND FIND OUT IF ITS A US 1 METER. 3. FIND OUT FROM THUNDER TIGER WHAT OM...

Also, you should use no grease on the gears. This attracts dirt which is noisy and causes wear, accordly to Rob Guyatt.
