Hi Roy
why not simply state instead, "The colour of materials is not restricted"?

Apart from the faulty logic and suggestion incorporated into the GBR request for interpretation, what are these issues, please? As is well known, it is difficult to describe in closed class rules absolutely everything that is permitted. Colour has never been mentioned before as being a relevant prop...

If the RSD is dissolved or if it evolves into the IRSCA, the RSD definitions go away and there is no definition of classes for the member classes. So the M, 10R and A would lose International designation. There is also a period when the IOM class loses its International designation Hi John Exactly....

Leech tabling
The NCA for GBR has requested an interpretation of the class rules on tabling. Their document presents an argument that tabling at the leech is in fact not permitted according to the current class rules. Their argument comprises three parts. The wording of G.3.1 and G.4.1 (b) (1) specifically permit...

The GBR request is for an interpretation of leech tabling legality, materials, and color. It was sent to Tech and posted on the FTP site Hi Bruce The FTP site is not accessible to anyone outside of Exec. The IOMICA Web site tells us that everyone will be kept informed about requests for interpretat...

We seem to have the following proposal for the AGM: [quote]Proposals for the 2009 AGM 1. To clarify the issue of moving/changing location of corrector weights and remote control equipment. Hi Peter Thanks for the clarification. However, you seem to imply that entrants can contact you and enter directly. In fact, the rules require any competitor to be entered by their NCA (for obvious reasons): 7. ELIGIBILITY 7.2. Any competitor in the Championship shall be a national or a permanent re...

Time to change the Roy and Lester dynamic
Just to let y'all know, in case anyone got to wondering, I'm no longer responding to any of Roy's posts, for reasons I have communicated to him. Time to stop this nonsense. I hope he'll consider doing the same.

I think it is accepted by all that the intention of the class rule proposal was to permit inexpensive aluminium masts, the sort that can be found in any hardware shop in Europe particularly. These lengths of aluminium are a nominal 10 mm dia. The actual proposal voted upon by the World Council was t...

A profoundly depressing correspondence. Roy, and the Exec to the extent to which it is involved, seem to be unaware of the consequences of insisting that the RSD is no longer a legitimate entity with respect to IOMICA activities. If Roy wishes to pursue this line, then IOMICA will have no choice but...

Hi Marko I might be able to help. Section 8 of the IOMICA Constitution deals with votes cast at a meeting of the World Council, and does not deal with the voting arrangements at NCA level (apart from requiring the NCA to vote in the WC the way its owners voted at home). Indeed, this was the intentio...

IOMICA, RSD, and the future of radio sailing
. As some of you may know, I'm helping the RSD Permanent Committee initiate discussion on the future of the RSD. For many of us, this is an important topic, not just in terms of the impact upon the IOM class, but also upon radio sailing on the planet in general. The RSD Web site now has the discussi...

What is the background and issues that lead to the IOM class joining ISAF on its own and the other three international classes forming the IRSCA to join ISAF? The heart of the issue is that we are talking about the future of RSD. At the moment, the RSD acts as the ICA for the three other internatio...

it sounds like we would pay 1. A sticker fee to ISAF (about GBP5) for each new boat we build 2. A registration fee to our NCA of $5 (as we do today) for each new boat that we build or register . .but that money then flows through to the ISAF. Hi John The money you pay to the NCA when you register y...
