Coming of age

Greetings all

I have been made aware that the IOM class reaches its 21st birthday this year. I’d be interesting in peoples thought on how best to celebrate such a milestone?

Hi Tony why have these useful bits been ditched? As I understand it the diagram wasn’t included in the re-write of the class rules because the leech points could have been misleading. The diagram shows them at even intervals along the leech measurement(C in the matrix) where, of course, they’re ...

2009 Malta Open National Championships

Vinnie Zammit has advised that MMBA will be running the 2009 Malta Open National Championships over the 4 days Saturday 28th March to Tuesday 31st March 2009.

I joined Vinnie and the MMBA last year and would thoroughly recommend attending.

Hi Tony

The oldest version of the rules that I’ve got is 2003 and I can’t find a sail measurement diagram. Do you have a copy of the version you’re referring to that you could email to me?

I’ve sent an email to each member of the WC with a voting return form to send back. If you haven’t got yours you can download one from:
http://www.iomclass.org/exec/2008AGM/vo ... rn2008.xls

Failing that please let me know and I’ll send you one.

Hi Steve.
Do you think it will be possible to write it up to allow either membership
IOMICA requires that an NCA be recognised by a DM, or MNA in the absence of a DM. I’m not sure how an either / or situation would work.

Hi Steve
IOMICA sees AMYA as our DM
IOMICA Constitution 7.1.1 wrote:[...]recognised by their DM (or MNA if no DM exists)[...]
If the AMYA no longer feel the need to act as the ISAF-RSD DM, I see no reason why the NCA for USA can’t seek recognition from the ISAF MNA (US Sailing).

Hi Paulo [...]these voltage indicators do not go against the rules I suspect they do, they’re not listed in CR D.2.4 as permitted radio control equipment. Whether they should be legal or not is another matter entirely and one that has, as yet, not found sufficient momentum for an NCA to propose a ...
