Here is a simple but crude looking solution. Cut a piece of light ply to fit into the pot housing. Trim the "horizon" of the piece to limit the stroke of the pot arm to the required amount. Tape the piece to the pot so that you can remove it easily when you want the TX for other applications Ralph

frequency control

I'd suggest those who have this problem contact their local RC car racing group to see how they address the problem. Like our craft, these folks have a lot of radios in use at one time and I'm certain that they need frequency control too. My guess is that they impound radios, or use the clothespin t...

ERS question

I don't want to get into a fight over this issue, but Jan's response, including "The ERS are not intended to be aimed at any particular discipline of sailing. In fact two of the five members of the ISAF working party doing the basic work are closely familiar with radio sailing. A test used is: "Will...

ERS

I would support developing a mini-ERS for the IOM. To me, it seems appropriate to minimize the amount of text, an...

control line

Lester: Depending on the geometry of the setup, there might be some advantages to having the two sheets attached to a swing arm winch at different radii. (That is the arrangement I used a few decades ago in the Marbleheads I built.) Those of us using drum winches usually have one line leading from t...

event frequency management

If I were in this position, I would have a staff member assigned to the task of frequency management. This would include: - every contestant would have a minimum of 5 or 6 frequencies available - those on the water, either being promoted, or demoted, and who must sail right away in the next heat, wo...

I posted an Excel program for scoring events held under a variety of event management formats, including HMS, in the Files section of this site. Sheet 2 has the text instructions on it's use. It has been used in a number of USA events and was used at the Worlds in Vancouver this year. Ralph Kelley h...
