Re: Rule F.5.3 FITTINGS - OPTIONAL

Roy Posted answer is IOM ICA TSC official view and I believe that formal interpretation is not necessary. Take a look on Technical Subcommittee page http://www.iomclass.org/administration/technical/ for more info. IOM is still RSD class and formal class rule interpretation must be made by RSD-IOM IC...

Re: Rule F.5.3 FITTINGS - OPTIONAL

James,

IOM CR F.5.3 is explicit in allowing both length AND tension adjustments. Choke ring or similar method of adjusting tension is perfectly fine and doesn’t preclude you from having turnbuckles at deck level as an independent means of adjusting LENGTH as well.

Re: Rule F.5.3 FITTINGS - OPTIONAL

Hi James Your question regarding the IOM Class Rules may affect some other boats in your NCA and worldwide. Please let me know if you ask the same question your NCA Technical person/team? If not, I strongly recommend to do so. IOMICA encourages an NCA/NCS officer to request an official interpretatio...

Ken As far as I know, the Class Championship Regulations were composed by the originators of the class along with the Constitution and Regulations and thus were "in place" when we came into being. Occasional amendments to them have been voted upon by the membership. Again, to my knowledge, Appendix...

Robert: No "Roy vs. Lester" issues going on here. Read you own posts. You have stated that you believe discussions (such as judges at major r/c races) "may be closed". You have virtually demanded that you be told "problems" that NCAs may have with immediate ISAF affiliation. You have lectured us fo...

Robert: Best I can tell, Lester Gilbert's post is simply his opinion of what ISAF will or will not require for an IOMICA sanctioned world championship based on his personal interpretation of what he thinks are the relevant ISAF rules. Unless Lester is now authorized to speak on behalf of ISAF, his ...

Just a simple minded overview of the current situation/debate. IOMICA presses ahead with joining ISAF in the current timeframe and is subsequently unable negotiate concessions in respect to costs and officials. As a result NCAs in some countries respond that they no longer consider the cost / benef...

What have we learned? If the IOM became an ISAF class, ISAF would not be forcing the IOM class to have International Juries. It is up to the class. Accepting that an International Jury is a 'good thing', it turns out it needs only to have three (3) IJs, or even just two (2) in an, erm, emergency......

But in the last couple of years I have become less sure. Quite clearly one size doesnt fit all when you compare model sailing with the full sized thing and ISAF needs to recognise that to be the case before we commit our future to them. In the particular instance of Juries, we should at least have ...

As a general matter, I think we need to try to obtain from ISAF some relief on registration fees for home built boats and judges and juries at major radio sailing events, clarification on how our rules and regulations will be interpreted and administered by ISAF and a method whereby national r/c au...

Next line with max 0.1 is dealing with difference between largest and smaller value of WALL THICKNESS. This is not MAST DIAMETER. The max. value of 0.1 has nothing to do with mast diameter.

Antonio Please carefully read my post. 10.6 is minimum mast diameter. There is no tolerance on the minumum value. Difference between min and max diameter may be 0.3 mm. You are not allowed to have 10.6 - 0.3 = 10.3 mm because absoulte min. is 10.6mm. You are allowed to have diameter of 10.9 mm somew...
