In fact, it's the oposite, as if you program a bigger angle for the same sheet travel, it means that you use a shorter arm, so with more power on the sheet.Steven Oosterheert wrote: Still I have the question: will the servo become less powerfull (and more vurnable) when programmed to a bigger angle?

My opinion is that 6 up and 6 down is a good idea, but that 76 max is a bad idea for big events. It will increase entrance cost(already huge today for WC), or reduce income for events organizers. You have also to think about smaller events. Max with 2 fleets 36=>34 3 52=> 48 4 68=> 62 It will reduce...

Powering a Hitec 5745MG sailwinch through the receiver?
For those who use that sailwinch(or maybe 5955/5995), do you power it through the receiver or via a Y harness?
Is there a risk of losing power if powered through receiver?
Or anything else?
Thanks for your answers.

Hi Lester, Great job, as usual! Just a word : For an armwinch, you can't do the calculations with a constant radius. The torque applied to the winch by the sheet line at each position is the line strength x armwinch radius x sin (angle between the arm and the sheet line) x 2 with the block on the ar...

Be careful! If you increase the number of boats to promote, you reduce the max number of boats at the event, or add heats...as there can't be more than 20 boats in a heat. For example, in Mooloolaba, 84 boats in five heats (20 + 16 x 4) With 6 boats to promote, it would have been 76 (20 + 14 x 4) Wi...

Oval Foredeck holes
I've read this article by P. Stollery : http://www.intersail.co.uk/news/?article=19235 and I have a question about this part : "In particular, Michael's approach to IOM design has certainly opened a few eyes to what is possible with these competitive boats and it was no surprise to see that his oval...
