In fact, it's the oposite, as if you program a bigger angle for the same sheet travel, it means that you use a shorter arm, so with more power on the sheet.

If you push your trim in both ways to the max, you will get 120°...

I had the same problem...

So you have to program more course to get the course you need without the trim...

My opinion is that 6 up and 6 down is a good idea, but that 76 max is a bad idea for big events. It will increase entrance cost(already huge today for WC), or reduce income for events organizers. You have also to think about smaller events. Max with 2 fleets 36=>34 3 52=> 48 4 68=> 62 It will reduce...

Lester,

I don't think that you could use a thinner mast with this lower shrouds, because, even with pre bend, you will lack tense in the jib.

Anyway, it will increase the perf of our boats for a very low cost increase.

Powering a Hitec 5745MG sailwinch through the receiver?

For those who use that sailwinch(or maybe 5955/5995), do you power it through the receiver or via a Y harness?

Is there a risk of losing power if powered through receiver?

Or anything else?

Thanks for your answers.

The rule says : 4 panels MAX for mainsail, and 3 MAX for jib.

So 1 to 4 are legal for main, and 1 to 3 for jib.

Clear?

Hi Lester, Great job, as usual! Just a word : For an armwinch, you can't do the calculations with a constant radius. The torque applied to the winch by the sheet line at each position is the line strength x armwinch radius x sin (angle between the arm and the sheet line) x 2 with the block on the ar...

Be careful! If you increase the number of boats to promote, you reduce the max number of boats at the event, or add heats...as there can't be more than 20 boats in a heat. For example, in Mooloolaba, 84 boats in five heats (20 + 16 x 4) With 6 boats to promote, it would have been 76 (20 + 14 x 4) Wi...

I think it means that all your rigs must have the limit band within 10 mm (=+/-5mm) and that you can't have a band outside of the limit 60-100mm.

So you can have 60-65-70, 60-70-70, 80-70-70, but not 60-80-70 nor 55-60-65

But if you want an advice, keep it close to 60!

Best regards.

The Hitec 5998TG has a heat sink, and the same torque as 5745MG, but it's small size doesn't protect it from burning!
