Geoff Smale Memorial Corinthian Spirit Award

A new award for the sailor best exemplifying the Corinthian Spirit during World Championship Regattas has been created in the name of the late Geoff Smale. More complete details are contained in a press release that is posted on the ICA home page at:

I thought this award was an excellent idea - hats off to all involved! I've not, however, seen or heard anything about it in the coverage of West Kirby. Any news on who became the first recipient of it?

I saw who it was in the final video except I had no idea who it was, so I asked.

The answer is that it was William Butler (AUS).

Also, Graham Bantock won the Master award, as he has apparently done before.
