Very Important: Allocation process deadline

Hi all,

Today June 17th, according to the allocation of places document, the allocation process for the IOM 2004 European Championship in Spain has started.

It is very important for those who wants to be part of the event to be sure to send to the entries form before June 20th.

Please, refer to the IOMICA home web page download section or to the 1metroSailSur website (www.1metrosailsur.com) for the entries form.

Closing day for entries is 7.th of july
Allocations starts 28 of july.

In the Allocations Place document (IOMICA web site) says

Three moths of calendary.

I understand 1th July ???? INMHO

"8.2 The initial closing date shall be three calendar months before the start of the event.

"8.3 The allocation of places shall take place within 14 days of the initial closing date"

The event starts 7. of october that gives 7. of july as 3 months before

within 14 days is 21 of july

So The NOR is correct

Why then confuse the people by announcing wrong dates??

Although it confused me too, do you really think it was deliberate?? I doubt it. We should assume it was a simple (but definitely avoidable) mistake, so no need to accuse people of ......bla, bla, bla. Get my point?

Hi everyone,

Just to re-cap the proceedings

- in our eagerness to "get the ball rolling" we have jumped the gun a little (and perhaps confused some people). Our appologies!

The NOR as it is on the website is correct with regards to the entry deadline. It was (and remains) July 7th - please get your entries ready.

The NOR is slightly incorrect with regards to the allocation date as the posted date of July 28th is in conflict with IOMICA Regulations (which stipulate that the allocation shall take place within 14 days of the deadline).

Consequently, the NOR will be ammended in the next couple of days to the effect that the allocation date will be changed to July 21st. An announcement will be posted here when the above change has been made.

Please note that the above should have no impact on the skippers and/or the NCA reps. You still have to get your entries in by July 7th - the only difference is that the final allocation will be made known to everyone a week earlier than originally announced. A welcome change for everyone, I suspect (except possibly the organizers).

Hi all,

A misunderstanding about the meaning of the word "within" and a typo error in the closing date have resulted in an incorrect announcement of entry deadlines for Arcos.

Very sorry for that.

Now all is correct and NOR is revised.

So, definitively closing date for reception of entries: July 7

allocations of places : July 21
