2006 Irish National Championships Results

Despite near gale force wind and heavy showers we managed to race the first half of the championships in the more sheltered part of Howth harbour and the second half at the end of the marina as the wind eased off a bit and we enjoyed more consistent winds.

It was an almost all B rig affair but most did start on C to quickly change up to B and then even pulled out of the bag their top rig but to paid a heavy price for that as a heavy shower & wind hit us well in the middle of a race.

Our fleet is small but growing and the proof is... We had 2 brand new skippers from the Royal Cork Yacht Club, one from Wexford. The rest of the fleet was made with Noel who came from the UK and the rest from Dublin area to total 10 boats on the starting line. This despite few of our usual suspect MIA.

Despite the tough weather conditions we did race the 16 scheduled races and met at the clubhouse for a pint afterwards...
