2022 World Championship results ?

Who won the 2022 World Championship ? I can find no info on the racing apart from some video on U Tube; which was quite entertaining. Where is a list of results and an account of the racing ? Also details of the different boats. Surely a lot of folk worked very hard to organise and compete and it so...

Re: How active are people here these days?

I look at this forum occasionally and tend to agree with your question. The MYA seems to have a much more active forum and I regularly post and read articles and have found it extremely useful. This is not intended as any criticism of the One Metre Association, it is just that, if you want active in...

Re: Pultruded Carbon Spars

I have re rigged my "Image" with an unstayed carbon mast. I used the guide on the Sails etc page for the US One Metre rig as a starting point. The joins for the 3 short lengths of tube were placed to match the luff of my main, when bent. This solves the "problem" of having to have new sails. I delib...

Re: HULL MATERIALS....3D Printing. Croatian Motion.

This is all going to get very complicated. My limited experience of printing suggests that the only advantage is speed of build. Printed structures require additional reinforcement to be practical as a hull. We already allow anyone who wants to risk building an extremely fragile light epoxy glass hu...

Red Wine - no rigs

Red wine GBR 1998, registered. Hull with fin, ballast, rudder and rudder servo. This is a woven glass epoxy boat and is very light, has significant corrector weight forward of the finbox. Will need altering, of course, after re-rigging. No winch or electrics included, apart from the digital rudder s...

Alternative build

Decided to use up my old stock of cedar planks (3 boats worth) and build myself a modern boat. Thanks Brad, have gone for your "Alternative" design. Picture of starting point. Ignore the string through the shadows; these are the 2mm alignment holes; each shadow is sighted in line using a bright ligh...

Re: Mast Mount

Hi Frank Mallard was a very popular design. Hull mounded by Tony Abel and mostly sold in kit form. I assume yours has a lite ply deck, in which case a mast box is easy to instal. The drawings of Mallard show construction from pieces of lite ply; I believe Marine modelling magazine plans for Nimbus a...
