There seems to be some recent changes/updates in the look of the IOM Forum. Just curious to know what has happened?

The tasks planned to be performed since August 2009 have been:
1.-Update : Operating system database: MySQL4 to 5. Done
2.-Upgrade: Operating system server: php4 to php5.Done
3.-Installing and converting Operating system forum: phpBB2 to phpBB3.Done
4.-Renewal of hosting site.(sep 14)Done
5.- Update the WC mailing list. Remaining
6.- New structure of ftp execom linkable from the website: Ongoing
7.- New structure of the site. Ongoing
8.- Update the ONE Metre Class ISAF web section. Remaining

I have prefered to bide one's time until the situation in the forum slow down.

Do you prefer a minimalist presentation, are you satisfied with the appearance of the site?

Sorry it took so long to respond, but if we are updating the forum a few thoughts--I think its time to end the various national sections on the board. They are basically not used at all anymore. In their place, perhaps IOMICA could offer to host the IOM class discussion boards for various NCAs and/or link to the existing forums. It would be nice to have one web place to see all things IOM. So, for example, if IOMICA hosted each NCA forum here, we could all read the US, GBR, Aus, NZ etc. forums in one convenient site.

I agree with Roy that we should try to host the other forums on here,as not many people post on here it might be evidence that people surf on other sites.IOM sailing is a minority within a minority of a sport and this should be the centre of all things IOM making us one big happy family.Happy New Year to all. It is true that most of the National Sections of the forum are not been used, so I am going to contact with all the NCA representative to ask them if we could remove their section.

Regarding the link to the different forums there is already a link to the different NCA web page at IOMICA's front page, in any case I will comment your suggestion with the rest of the members of the Exec.

Pedro,

Thank you for your work on the site and forums. It is so refreshing to see threads listed from the top down the way most of the English world reads. It always annoyed me to no end that Newest First was the default.

Keep up the good work

Jim:
You can access the "User Control Panel" (top right). Then click in "Board Preferences"(top left). You can choose your preferable display options.
Thanks
