2009 Canadian National Championship Regatta

Details will come later but we wanted to get the date in front of everyone as soon as possible so that travel plans can be made well in advance.

The 2009 edition of the Canadian Nationals will return to the West Coast and back to the fabulous Saltspring Island Sailing Club location in Ganges Harbour on . . . . your guessed it . . . . . .Saltspring Island.

The dates will be around the weekend of June 6th and 7th. We are looking at a schedule that will provide more sailing time than the previous event(s) and are considering starting earlier on Friday (the 5th) and/or sailing into the afternoon a bit more on Sunday. Most of our longer distance travelers come to town on Thursday anyway and most of the locals can get to the Island in time for a mid-morning start anyway. Any opinions???

So, mark your calendars for June 5 - 7, 2009 and come enjoy the Gulf Islands lifestyle for a few days, you won't be disappointed.

More details will be posted soon as we are trying to get the loose ends tied up earlier this year.

It is confirmed that this event will be included in the US Ranking System so it is a chance to come race in a good sized event and pick up some valuable status.

Naturally, it is a Canadian Ranking event.
