How many entries to Marseille did your country send ??

Post by awallin » 02 Jul 2007, 11:13

Hi all,

Just very informally it would be nice to know approximately how many extra places there are for Marseille in stage two allocations.

I know FIN sent in three entries, so we are using our two spots and hoping for one more.

Sören and Torvald seemed to indicate that they are the only ones from their countries so that frees up one DEN spot and two NOR spots.

Bruce Andersen says that IOMICA might use up to 6 of the guest spots, but that still leaves 4 free places.

We have some new NCAs, and some that haven't participated in previous championships to my knowledge (NED, SWE, ARG, BRA, MLT). It would be nice to hear from you!

I expect most European countries will claim their stage 1 allocations, but what about AUS and NZL, how many are coming ?

regards,

Anders Wallin

Portugal has sent 2 entries. What would the chances be of being able to send another one?

The allocation of places is explained in this document:
http://www.ycpr.net/datas/docs/11716473 ... gbr%20.pdf

My understanding is that all entries should be sent in before the initial closing date, so it is no longer possible to send in more entries.

As there was no POR competitor in the last world championship it is unlikely that a third place would have been available.

From my post below I think it's clear that at least 7 places are free from stage one, but as I wrote below there might be more depending on how many competitors are willing to travel from far away, and if the NCAs that have not previously been at WCs come this time.

Anders,

Thank you for the quick reply.

We did send an extra entry before the limit date. We are just hoping that there might be an opening.

Best regards

Thanks Olivier, fast work.

63 entries in stage 1 leaves 13 for stage 2 and later (76 boats in total 76-63=13).

so any country in the top 13 on the stage-2 list should be OK.

From a FIN perspective this will get real close! We are on place 16. on the stage-2 list, but there are at least three countries in front who aren't claiming their extra places:
NOR, DEN, IRL
so effectively FIN is in 13. place and we should get the third place?!

now it all depends on how many extra entries the countries that are high up on the stage-2 list sent....
(from below we know that AUS will claim places 1. and 3., and that NOR, DEN, and IRL will leave places 7, 12, and 15 unused)

Thanks Anders, but that's YCPR's job, not mine...

For an extra place for France, it depends on RSA and NZL, as it seems that USA claims only for 1 extra place.

May those countries answer?

So, anyone know when YCPR will have the stage 2 allocations ready?
