Connections
Hi, I was wondering what most of you use as for connections (batteries to winch...) I would think that a fair amount of skippers use the futaba plug but I find themt too exposed to the element (we sail mainly on the sea). I personally use Molex plugs, purely because they were those in place when I b...

Hi,
I think this is a no brainer - the rule need to change to include such a device. it doesn't add to the performance and so many people use it already even at the recent Worlds.
Regards
Gilbert

Hiya - do the same as Fernando after each sailing. Like yourself I don't have a sailbox and till now I store the sails flat in a dry area. It is important to rince the sails after each race and let them dry fully before storing them. for now I keep them in a sailbag (heavy plastic) but once I receiv...

boat bag ?
Hiya - got sorted on the sailbag now looking for a nice comfy boatbag for my boat. Currently use towel but not ideal and I'd like something that will protect the boat better.
I've seen them on pics but can't find who makes them... ?
Anyone ?
Best Regards

Efficient and good looking carbon finish... how ?
Hi, I have build a rudder in carbon/balsa. It is pretty stiff and to the weigth I wanted but I was looking for the carbon look finish. I think carbon is a nice looking material particularly the twill type. I managed to get a smooth finish but it didn't look good at all. So I decided to paint it. But...

Sailbag for IOM rigs
Hi, I'm looking for a sailbag for my IOM rigs. Ideally 4 pockets as I have 4 rigs but I know most have only 3 so I'll settle for 3 pockets if can't find one with 4. I have seen before few done in kevlar similar material. Not interested in plastic. Anyone know where I can get one ? Thx all, Gilbert I...

2006 Irish National Championships Results
Despite near gale force wind and heavy showers we managed to race the first half of the championships in the more sheltered part of Howth harbour and the second half at the end of the marina as the wind eased off a bit and we enjoyed more consistent winds. It was an almost all B rig affair but most ...

response to Ralph re the mandarin
Hi Ralph, didn't go as far as your upgrade on yours but not bad. I was actually surprised about the performance of the boat in light wind. My prioriy was for the kid to be able to sail quickly so I built 2 new rigs A&B, kept the existing servos but took everything out to give them a good clean up be...

Countdown device for starting sequence - Anyone ?
Hi, we are looking at having a starting device for the Association. We've looked at few options but instead of re-inventing the wheel I was wondering what do you use or have seen in events that works well andwhich it's not too expensive. Few of our constrains are security (we sail in a public area a...

Hi, only new to fleet racing but in my experience I found that it is easy to get "stuck" in a lower fleet for whatever reason where I should be in a higher fleet hence high points accumulated in the meantime. (it is then much harder if not impossible to recover) More movement between fleets - ie mor...

course in Ireland
We found that windward lourd course is good as it is not only about boat speed but about tactical and even strategy if the course is big enough. We typically have the start/finish line in the middle. This has few advantages such as no need to have two lines (one to start and one to finsih) so once t...

Restauring a Mandarin for a kid
Hi, I'm trying to restaure a Mandarin for a kid who wants to sail with us. I have no information whatsoever on this type of boat. So any kind of information on the rigging and sheeting system mainly would be very appreciated. It is also missing the bow bumper, anyone got a spare one they don't use a...

Anyone who know the most recent version on this ??? the actual wording would be great thanking you :D So far I've been using Anders file Thank yo...
