Re: Redress...
Fix it. Getting entangled due to someone else's mistake and losing many places in a regatta is way too harsh in my opinion. You can say just be more careful but I don't think people are trying to run into someone and get entangled, I would hope that they are being as careful as they can be and proba...

Re: Redress...
John, Your approach sounds logical and should work, but it requires the Protest Committee to agree that "Entangled" is in fact "Disabled". The whole thing is just a little messy, if you hit a mark you do a turn, fine I get that. If you get entangled for 3 minutes and then get free what happens? Who ...

I'm sorry John but to me the line through the digit or under the digit is far from "elegant", to me it is kind of ugly. Just a personal opinion.Hiljoball wrote:I love it! Simple, cheap and elegant!

Re: What batteries are people using?
Hey Rob,
I hear if you use a RMG winch the battery usage goes way down. I use a 1300mah LiPo and can sail all day, up to 15 races, and use around 500mah. The battery weighs 74grams and cost about $7.00 US.

Re: Single Panel Molded Sails
Dave, Please look at my last post, I am not concerned about molded sails. I am concerned that someone will make 3DL type sails, pay North, and have to charge a lot to get their investment back. I'm not even sure that is what is fastest for an IOM, hopefully what we have now (conventional seems to be...

Re: Single Panel Molded Sails
Ted,i hear what you're saying but i don't know what you're thinking. Peter Peter, I am not concerned about how a sail is made (the force and heat debate) I am worried that someone will make sails with a 3DL type construction and the cost could/would be very high. They may not work and none of this ...

Re: Single Panel Molded Sails
Hi John, The other people that just sit in front of the computer and just wonder why don’t we vote may be they should think on the issue a little bit more. I've been thinking  : Perhaps the only way to settle this sails issue (if we have one) is by controlling the material that is used to mak...

Re: Single Panel Molded Sails
Perhaps the best way to handle this issue is by letting the Certificated owners vote on it. It is clearly a new method of sail making for the IOM class and the owners should be allowed to offer their opinion...by voting.

Take a look at this. It has all the weights listed from Anders Wallin.

I don't know why it is so quiet on this Forum, here in the northern and eastern parts of the USA it is too cold to type.
