You do have to cut he fin down to fit the rectangular fin case but that shouldn't effect the stiffness. You also have to build it up to fit the case. It surprises me that the Creed fin was too soft. I have sailed most systems over the last 40 years from grid to he current HMS. The current system is the result of evolution and some revolution over that time. If the current HMS system has a problem as described, better to just fix the problem rather than go to a new "Nuts" system.
