Personally, I believe that knowing what the max beam and transom width are, is a big part in the decision-making process of purchasing a new boat. I've requested this information from the builder of a boat I'm thinking of buying, and have not received a response. Having this basic info available is ...

Ground shipping works, but if you absolutely have to put it on a plane, I've heard that putting the rigs in fishing rod cases works. You'd have to take the booms off, of course. I believe the rod cases are considered oversized, but usually the airlines let it slide because they are compact and light...

A synonym for bag, as in, "What's your bag?" is addiction, or habit...which I suffer from re: IOM sailing.

Synonyms for addiction, and potential brand names: bent, craving, dependence, enslavement, fixation, hang-up, hook, inclination, kick, monkey, obsession, shot, sweet tooth, thing.

Lester. If you, or anyone else coming to the regatta from outside the US, have not resolved this issue, please let me or Jake Leo know. I also have a spare 75 Mhz JR radio, and between the rest of us, we will be able to hook you up and get you going!
