The Nordic countries organizes a Nordic Championship in IOM every year, for the IOM class 2004 was the first year.

In 2014 Norway is hosting the championship. Norsk Modellseilforening will host the event and it will also serve as NMS 110 year anniversary.

I sugest that the Exec promotes a date for a world wide race day, unless this will die quietly.

If we can agree upon a date we could promote that event.

In Norway we have a race 21 of june, the same time as the racing in the WC starts, I know that in Spain they are going to have their regional Catalonian championship.

The Nordic IOM Championship will be held May 2 and 3 in Oslo Norway.
In aditional to the Nordic IOM sailors we hope for other sailors too.

A maximum limit of contestants is set to 38.

The preliminar division is set to 8 from each Nordic country and 6 from others

The Nordic IOM Championship 2007 was arranged by SRSS 29 to 30 of september.

37 participants, 4 from FIN. 4 from DEN, 9 from NOR and the rest from SWE.

The 2007 Scandinavian IOM Cup Race 1where hosted by Norsk Modellseilforening in Oslo Norway.

I have been using Prolines to design mine IOM's. I have downloded a copy of Freeship and it seems to be a great program.
I will test it, but what I have seen so far I think I will use this in the future.

There are no free AutoCad on the net, but there are "free" versions around for download using such programs as BearSheare.
Just bear in mind that this is no leagal versions

There are some newer versions around these days, 14 must be from the previous millenium.

If you can't open them they are made on later versions than what you have.

I have read the draft of the phigit, yes it simpifies some matters, but the clear references ti yhe IOM rules removes a lot of the complexity from the phigit rules ...

Of course the rules are simpler if the the idea is to use an IOM rig, only one line in the rules are necessary:

Rigs to be IOM rigs.

And then leave the IOM class to define the rules.
