New IOM hits the water....
We finally convinced Todd Brown, an amateur designer of several narrow beam US1Ms sailed locally, to take a shot at an IOM design. Early on I pushed him toward a moderate to wide beam hull despite his affinity for narrow boats. Over several months, we went back and forth many times over max beam, bo...

I'd like to contact him regarding some sails I acquired second hand.
Anyone have an e-mail address for him?
Thanks,
John Whalen

Coatings out there...
FYI- These are perfect examples of what you're talking about. I'll leave the legal interpretations to the lawyers.

E.4.7
Since we have rule A.5.1 which states "These class rules shall be read in conjunction with the ERS." And since we have rule A.8.1 indicating that "amendments to these rules shall be proposed by the ICA and are subject to the approval of the ISAF-RSD" Shouldn't we really be talking about how to get t...

Thoughtful response.
Thanks again for a thoughtful response. Since the lead is in the same watertight protective cover as the battery, its actually taped to the end of the pack if I remember correctly, and since there is no definition of "battery pack", and lead is performing the function of making the replacement pack ...

Ok...what is legal?
Thanks for the responses Lester. On the topic of corrector/added weights, is this the correct interpretation? I can ship or unship "added weight" from within the bottom of a keel stepped mast. But I can't put the weight into the boat as a "corrector weight" when I change rigs. Weights added to the h...

Corrector weights
The way I read the rules led me to show up at the nationals with the following setup. 1- 1200ma battery in a balloon, weighing 98 grams. 1-650 ma battery + a piece of lead in a balloon, weighing 98 grams. Seems logical that if you mount it in the same spot, and it weighs the same...you're adhering t...

BAG
I like the Swag suggestion...
The follow up design names just seem to flow...
Brag, Frag, Drag (whoops, bad idea),
Jag, Hag, Lag (another stinker),
Rag, Tag, Sag, Wag and Zag.
