Re: The size of a vang/kicking strap ... discussion
Sorry Andrew, not the end yet, I would like to add my 2 cents here on my personal view, not as VC event. The concern for most people about "Viss vangs" is its projected surface downwind as highlighted by Bob Lewis. If we want to reduce the surface, why not just ask for holes or cuttings ? I let you ...

Bruce, about going or not to an emergency rule change more restrictive, we'll let this to new Exec after January 1st.

Re: 2025 AGM Meeting Minutes (final results)
Steve,
AGM closure was Friday, it's not "a month " before, and as you know we are all volunteers, so Josip has probably better things to do than updating website during the weekend.
Results have been sent by email to all NCAs, please check your secretary.

Re: 2025 AGM - Resolutions and proposals
So Canada has to do their homework, as CRYA is the NCA, so you have to organize accordingly how you get these founds.
One question : When you send your report to IOMICA, you give number of IOM owners, not all members of CRYA I guess ?
If yes, you will find a way.

Re: 2025 AGM - Resolutions and proposals
On IOMICA view, all countries signing a MOU with IOMICA have an NCA, as MoU has been signed !
The way it is managed locally is a different topic, but these costs would be supported by IOM owners from this country, obviously not by ALL members of this DNM.

Re: 2025 AGM - Resolutions and proposals
Hi Olivier, The problem with this motion is that the registered/certificated voting members do not have the authority to make a financial commitment on behalf of their national member. Only the Executives of each national authority may do that, and it may require a vote of their full membership whi...

Re: 2025 AGM - Resolutions and proposals
Hi John, respectfully, doing what you suggest, so IOMICA paying directly OA for such video feed is not an healthy management of our ICA. This levy is a very good idea to ensure there will be a video feed at our WC, so promoting our class in the world. It would be quite a low fee/owner in each NCA fo...

Hi Zvonko, "What I find unclear is why France waited so long to bring this proposal forward. Why wasn’t it raised immediately after the 2023 European Championship in Torrevieja (ESP), when there were only two prototype boats?" Why ? Because it was too late for 2023. Deadline for submissions was midd...

Re: Radio on/ off switch...To use or not?
When I had an armwinch with battery connected directly to the receiver, I used a wire connected to the receiver with on the other side a plug such as XT60 to connect my battery on it. As you say, less dangerous for receiver's pins.

Definitely !
It seems only IOMICA Exec is working here.
But if you have a question / project, we can try to publicize it through IOMICA's social media.

Hi,
Usual way is to sheet in with stick towards you.
On some radio it's the only position where trim is efficient, so could be useful as well.
But there is no "rule" on this

Even if PG modelisme masts are recommended for current benchmark IOM, there are other suppliers, such as sailsetc for example...

Hello David, Achille, You are right, it's now possible to find carbon tubes at a lower (or similar) price than the alloy ones which are used by majority of IOMs today. But you compare the best alloys with poor quality carbon tubes. Just have a look at Sails etc website on this page http://www.sailse...

Hi Neil, As explained by Gordon, places are awarded by country, not by continent, and at IOMICA we had the choice of taking directly a 15th french competitor (who leaves 3 hours driving from Vitoria) or inviting a guest from a country without NCA to promote IOM there. We have chosen that latter, con...

Modifying them only further complicates the rules and ties the hands of future regatta organizers. John I miss your argumen...
