A couple of hopefully helpful comments.
For the laser cut double eye hook in one of your early posts, drill a "square" hole in your mast otherwise the fitting is inclined to twist off to one side or other of the mast and ruin it's alignment. I did not learn about this trick until i had thrown away ...

I saw the scheudled dates for this event, are these firm dates and who is hosting? I ask because i am trying the schedule the Region 6 regatta for Victorias up in Oregon and i don't want to sail on the same dates as some people may have to choose between.

I'm back to thinking about bend again. It sounds like one wants their headstay as tight as possible, ie piano string? I am trying to understand the purpose of mast pre-bend. I believe it is to allow one to maintain a straighter mast when the rig has significant head and back stay tension.
