Hi Zvonko
Good to hear from you.
I don’t think that’s factually correct. The potter one was legal initially. I actually still have one here.
I think you can go around in circles with the history of it but I struggle to see the fundamental difference - they’re both gooseneck / kickers that appear ...

Re: The size of a vang/kicking strap ... discussion
If you take a step back from all of this and reflect. I’m struggling to see the logic of bending over backwards to make the Viss type legal while the potter type one was forced to be modified.
Seems inconsistent.

Re: Brushless winch
Hi Rob
Hope you stick with the winch making ! I've currently got 6 RMG winches of various ages (New up to 10 years old) and have never had any problems whatsoever.
In Euro terms the prices have increased but that has been due to the AUD/Euro fx rate which is beyond your control.

Re: New to IOM
Hi Brian
We sail out of Howth on weekends from October to May. We used to race exclusively on Sunday mornings but are now being more flexible with an aim to rebuild the fleet numbers.
I'm guessing you're on Strangfrod Lough ? Do you have many boats sailing ?

Re: New to IOM
Hi Brian
Welcome to the IOM. There isn't a huge difference in tuning between the different designs so probably best to see what the others are doing in your club.
If you've got Stealth specific questions, you're probably best advised to ask Trev Bamforth who designed it.

The other thing to consider is that each country has its own forum - the Italian and French ones in particular are very active, with lots of good information.

Brad Gibson
I see Brad Gibson has his new UK based website up and running. His address is:
http://freespace.virgin.net/bgrc.yachting/
I won't pretend not to be biased, as I have two of his Disco design.
Anyone who has seen his work can't fail to be impressed by its quality.

Had a quick look at the footage. Looks like the familiar problem of a far away downwind mark.
Often from the skippers' vantage point the boats blanket one another and it is almost impossible to see individual boats. However there's no excuse for piling in if the view is better. Think you'd need to ...

You should keep in touch with Brad Gibson, he usual hears of the boats when they are for sale as there are lots of them in Australia.
