Preliminary Informations

1. Venue

The 2010 International One Metre Class European Championship will be held in Pierrelatte(26) Base Nautique de Pierrelatte. Coordinates GPS: Lat: 44 ° 21′ 48.19 ” N Long: 4 ° 40′ 53.60 ” E

  • 26th September Equipment Inspection : 8h30-11h – 12h first warning signal
  • 27th – 28th September Racing days (09:00 first warning signal)
  • 29th September Reserve day (The day may be used for racing if 10 completed races
  • have not been achieved at the end of September 28st)
  • 30th September– 2nd
  • October
  • Racing days (09:00 first warning signal, 16:00 last warning signal for
  • the last race on October 2nd
  • 2nd October Award ceremony

3. Organising Authority

3.1. The 2010 International One Metre European Championship is organised by the Sailing Club UNVMP in association with the French Sailing Federation, as approved by the International One Metre International Class Association.

4. Eligibility

4.1. The competition is open to International One Metre class boats selected by an IOM National Class Association in good standing with IOMICA. The ISAF Regulations regarding eligibility apply with the additional requirements of the IOMICA Class Championship Regulations.

5. Registration

5.1. A valid IOM Class Certificate for each boat must be submitted on or before 1st September 2010. A fax copy is acceptable; however the original must be made available at registration. Boats shall be presented for registration and equipment inspection on Saturday, 25th September or Sunday 26th before 11 AM . The Race Committee may extend the time for registration and inspection if there is a valid reason to do so. No boat shall be eligible to race until it has been registered and has passed equipment inspection.

6. Scoring and Racing System

6.1. The Championship will be raced and scored under the Heat Management System (HMS2007). Entries shall be limited to 76 boats.

7. Umpires

7.1. ISAF International Umpires or International Judges shall be appointed as umpires. National Judges and National Umpires may be appointed to assist.

7.2. Competitors may be required to undertake Observer duties. Experienced Radio Sailing personnel may be appointed to record boat and buoy contacts and penalty turns.

8. Sailing instructions

8.1. The sailing instructions will be provided by the end of the period of registration.

9. International Jury

9.1. An International Jury conforming to RRS Appendix N shall be appointed. RRS 70.4 will apply. Furthermore, the right of appeal is denied to the extent that a boat’s transfer to subsequent heats is affected.

10. Entries

10.1. Entry Form to be build.

10.2. The entry fee proposed is 360 EUR per competitor together with the IOMICA fee of 15 EUR per competitor (total fee 375 EUR) but will be confirmed in due time. (Could be reduced if sponsorship is found)- It will include all lunchs from Sept 26th to October 2nd, gastronomic trip on lay day and event opening and closure ceremony dinners.

11. Equipment Inspection

11.1. It is intended that all boats will pass equipment inspection on Friday 24th September, Saturday 25th September and Sunday morning 26th. Nonetheless, the Race Committee may at any time request the Equipment Inspector to confirm that a boat complies with the IOM Class Rules. Random spot checks may be made throughout the event.

12. Frequencies

12.1. The permitted frequency bands are 2.4 Ghz 26,815 to 27,195 MHz 35,000 to 35,200 MHz 40,665 to 41,200 MHz 72,210 to 72,490 MHz. Each competitor must have a minimum of 6 frequencies available. An exception to the minimum number of frequencies is granted in the case of systems operating on 2.4 GHz.

14. Liability

14.1. All those entering or taking part in this Championship do so at their own risk and responsibility. ISAF, ISAF – RSD, the International One Metre International Class Association, the Sailing Club “UNVMP”, the French Sailing Federation and its Rafio Sailing Division and any other parties involved in the organisation of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both ashore and on the water as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice of Race.

14.2. At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decision to participate or continue shall rest with the competitor. By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions. Competitors are advised to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance that provides cover for public liability and their possible injury in France.

15. Accommodation, transport, etc

15.1. Appendix A contains a list of accommodation packages and costs.

15.2. Appendix B to be build will contain the list of social, food and transport packages and their costs available to competitors, partners, and supporters.
